ECNUers Shine in China Talent Show

The VIVA Chorus sing at the stage of China Talent Show.

The VIVA Chorus from ECNU conquered the audiences and entered the next round of competition with unanimous affirmation from the judges in China Talent Show on December 16 with “the most difficult song in the world”, Flight of the Bumblebee.

Flight of the Bumblebee, was originally an orchestral ditty from the opera Tale of Tsar Saltan and was later adapted into a popular song and one of the fastest piano piece. With wonderful performance, the VIVA Chorus brought a totally different Flight of the Bumblebee, which is more lively and cheerful with youthful passion, to the show.

Their performance began in choir members’ cheering with shoulder clapping and massage and then proceeded in pure human voice without any accompaniment. The vivid and lifelike imitation of bumblebee flying and confident stage performing won high praises from the audiences and judges.

 

In the end, one of the judges, famous musician Gao Xiaosong commented that their emotion control during the show was even better than professional performers. And he was deeply impressed and delighted by the joy and enthusiasm of youth exposed in their performance.    

The judges sing high praise of the VIVA Chorus' performance.

According to members of the Chorus, three senior girls among them will graduate from ECNU next year. They said their performance at the stage of China Talent Show would be the best graduate presents to them and the best conclusion to their college years.

  

The VIVA Chorus consists of core members from ECNU Chorus which is made up of ECNU undergraduates, graduates and doctoral students. With advantageous items in chorus, semi chorus of boys and girls and solo, ECNU Chorus can be regarded as one of the best university choruses in Shanghai and have won a lot of prizes in many important competitions both at home and abroad.
