ECNU students won two gold medals and one silver medal at the recently concluded final of the 8th Challenge Cup College Student Business Plan Competition, sharing first place nationwide with Tongji University.
On the evening of November 28th, the final of the 8th Challenge Cup College Student Business Plan Competition was held in Tongji University. Three ECNU teams achieved the best results at the competition in history with two gold medals and one silver medal: Shanghai Cleanwell Technology. Co., Ltd (by Xiong Zhichun from Dept. of Physics, Lu Chengyi from School of Business, Xie Yijun from School of Finance & Statistics and Mao Yanting from Dept. of Physics) and Shanghai Huasheng Biological Technology Co., Ltd. (by Yin Chengcong and Wang Yingxue from School of Life Sciences, Tao Ye from School of Public Administration and Yan Fangqin, Xie Runqi from School of Business) won gold medals, and Young Solar Air Conditioner Co., Ltd (by Li Yinpu from School of Finance and Statistics, Zhuang Hao and Lin Peilin from School of Information Science & Technology, Lin Yuanfang and Ma Tianyu from dept. of mathematics, Zhang Yuexia from School of Finance and Statistics, Sheng Jie from dept. of physics) won silver medal. Moreover, in network operation competition, Xiao Yangren team won the second prize, Cleanwell team and Huasheng team won the third prizes.

In order to celebrate the excellent achievement ECNU students had made, a commending ceremony for the three teams and their instructors was held on November 29 at Minhang Campus. At the ceremony, both Tong Tong Shijun, Chairman of ECNU council, and President Chen Qun expressed congratulations to the three teams and their instructors and the willingness that all ECNUers should take these students and teachers as examples and learn from their exploration, innovation, and team work. Lin Zaiyong, Vice Chairman of ECNU council & Vice President, read out Decisions on Rewarding Challenge Cup Winners and Instructors. According to the Decisions, the University will give both a special honor and some award money to each member of the three teams and their instructors.

According to the organizer, this year’s Challenge Cup has attracted more than 2, 000 students with 223 products from 162 universities around the country including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. With products full of technology, innovation and practicability,the competition has caught much attention from venture capital industry, entrepreneurs and local business parks. Statistics show 94 products of this year's Challenge Cup have signed contracts or achieved investment intention of ¥281 million RMB.
