Recently, the American academic journal Contemporary Chinese Thought published a volume (Vol. 43，No. 04, 2012) entitled “Yang Guorong’s Concrete Metaphysics” to introduce ECNU Prof.Yang Guorong’s philosophical thinking.
Based on the ideas of Yang’s books On “Dao”, A Moral Philosophical Study on Ethics and Existence, and Self-sufficient and Contribution: Generation of World of Meaning and multiple philosophical wisdoms under the exchange of occidental and oriental philosophy, the volume focuses on the elaboration of man’s world on the aspects of ontology, moral philosophy, and theory of meaning. Different from post metaphysics and abstract metaphysics, Concrete metaphysics introduced the concreteness of the existence of man and the world in multiple aspects.
Apart from that, the English versions of introductions to Yang’s three books of On “Dao”, A Moral Philosophical Study on Ethics and Existence, and Self-sufficient and Contribution: Generation of World of Meaning are also included in the volume. On “Dao” and A Moral Philosophical Study on Ethics and Existence were first published in People’s Publishing House and Self-sufficient and Contribution: Generation of World of Meaning was first published in Shanghai People’s Press.
