Singers from China National Opera House gave a fantastic show in Siqun Hall at Zhongbei Campus on November 2. This is the second show among ECNU’s “Daxia Stage” performance series and also one of the 2012 “High Art into Campus” activity series held together by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture as well as Ministry of Finance.

University leaders Tong Shijun, Ren Youqun and Fan Jun, as well as former university leaders Yu Lizhong, Du Gongzhuo watched the performance along with nearly a thousand teachers and students. Associate professor Wu Ruirui from Department of Music of ECNU was one of the performers.
The concert was chaired by baritone Wang Liming and conducted by permanent conductor of China National Opera House Zhu Man. Before the show, head of the Department of Performance Liang Han, on behalf of China National Opera House, accepted the pennant sent by ECNU to express the thanks and praise to them.

During the show, performers used no microphones and sang many famous pieces, i.e. selections of the operas "Carmen ", “Turandot”, “La traviata”, etc., which won them great applause. There were also interactive sessions in which students were invited to take part in the performance.

The project of “Daxia Stage” performance series was launched by ECNU Culture Committee and the Publicity Department of the Party Committee on May 20, 2012 to create a prosperous campus culture as well as to improve the artistic accomplishments of ECNU’s teachers and students.
