President Chen Qun Visits UBC and UVic

The delegation of ECNU led by President Chen Qun visited University of British Columbia (UBC) and Victoria University (UVic) in Canada during October 16-19.

President Chen Qun signs an agreement with UBC President Stephen Toope

 

During the visit in UBC, Chen and UBC President Stephen Toope exchanged ideas about promoting further cooperation between the two universities and signed the “Agreement of ECNU-UBC Joint Center for Studies of Modern China and the World". Starting next year，the two sides will launch a series of cooperation projects .

 

President Chen Qun meets with UVic President David Turpin

 

In UVic, Chen was invited to attend Uvic’s 50th anniversary ceremony and accepted the “International Cooperation Partner Award” given specially to ECNU from UVic for celebrating the 30th anniversary of cooperation between the two universities. Chen, on behalf of ECNU, expressed his congratulations for Uvic and the willingness of further cooperation with Uvic in the future in his speech at the ceremony.

 

While in Canada, Chen also visited the Education Consuls Xue Huanbai and Du Jian of Chinese Consulate General in Vancouver.
