The unveiling ceremony for ECNU's Education Cloud Research Center.
A delegation led by Robert Soderbery, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Cisco's Enterprise Networking Group, and Aglaia Kong, Global Vice President of Cisco and CTO for Cisco China visited ECNU and Shanghai Engineering Research Center for E-Education Equipment on September 11.
Vice Chairman of ECNU Council & Vice President Ren Youqun, ECNU Information Technology Service Center director Shen FuKe, and Gong Hao, chairman and CEO of Shanghai Hua Shi Jing Cheng High-tech Co., Ltd.(HSJC), met the delegation and exchanged issues of education informationization and education cloud university with the gusets.
After the meeting, Ren Youqun, Robert Soderbery, Aglaia Kong and Gong Hao unveiled the plaque for “ECNU Education Cloud Research Center" , the first education cloud research center in China. They hoped the center could attract experts from Shanghai governmental department of education, ECNU, Cisco and HSJC to devote to the frontier research of education cloud and the development of leading solution designs.
In August this year, Shanghai Putuo District People's Government, Cisco, ECNU, and HSJC signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to promote the development of education cloud and the construction of "Smart + Connected Communities". The inauguration of the center is the first important step to carry out the memorandum.
According to the memorandum, the center will promote a fast development of education cloud in the country, as it will provide not only technical and resource support for the practical application of education cloud, but also technical support and solution designs for building “Smart + Connected Communities” in Shanghai.
