The unveiling ceremony for Zizhu schoolyard of No.2 High School affiliated to ECNU.
The newly-built Zizhu schoolyard of No.2 High School affiliated to ECNU and its junior high school started their first school year on Sep.3, which marks the overall establishment of ECNU’s Zizhu Basic Education Zone in Minhang District.
Located in Zizhu Hi-tech Park of Minhang District and next to ECNU’s Minhang campus, ECNU’s Zizhu Basic Education Zone covers an area of about 33 acres with pleasant surroundings and advanced facilities.
To meet the education needs in the fast developing suburban areas, Shanghai Municipal Government has made great efforts to introduce high quality education resources to this city’s suburbs and nearby towns in the past 4 years. The construction of ECNU’s Zizhu Basic Education Zone in Minhang District is one of them.
The program of ECNU’s Zizhu Basic Education Zone, cooperated by Minhang Government and ECNU, was initiated in January 2009. The education zone, co-invested and cofounded by Minhang Government and Zizhu High-tech Park, consists of a kindergarten, a primary school, a junior high school and a high school. The completion of the newly-built schools, together with the Zizhu Primary School Affiliated to ECNU and a kindergarten which were successively completed last year, has brought the program to a full fruition.
No.2 High School affiliated to ECNU is one of the best high schools in Shanghai. The school and its newly built Zizhu schoolyard are just two parts of one school. Despite locations in different areas, the philosophy of schooling, management teams, education modes and teaching procedures in both parts are almost all the same.
Experts say the program of ECNU's Zizhu Basic Education Zone will contribute a lot to balance the educational development between the urban and suburban areas.
