Integration for Advantageous Resources and Focus on Important Projects: ECNU-CSU Joint Research Institute for New Energy and the Environment Founded

An opening ceremony and a symposium were held on June 10th, 2011 for the joint research institute for new energy and the environment co-founded by Colorado State University and our university. Many experts and officials attended the ceremony, including Li Bing, Zhao Lixian, Lei Fengyun, Xiao Yugui, Huang Weimao, Yuan Wen, and Yang Demei. President of Colorado State University headed a delegation of twelve people to attend it, too. Representatives of our teachers and students also took part in the ceremony, including our President Yu Lizhong, Vice President Zhuang Huiming, Fan Jun, Ren Youqun, Chen Qun, and Zhu Ziqiang. Our Vice President Chen Qun and their Vice President both presided over the ceremony.

Li Bing and Xiao Yugui addressed in the ceremony, hoping that the two universities would promote Sino-American cooperation on new energy and the environment and make contributions to high-level research.

Presidents from the two parties also made brilliant speeches, marking that the cooperation has come to a new phase between the two universities.

On behalf of each university, presidents of the two universities signed the cooperation agreement. Together with them, Li Bing and Xiao Guiyu unveiled the name of the joint institute.

It is reported that the two universities have strengths in many disciplines and the cooperation will promote the integration of each other’s advantageous resources and make more achievements in the future.


Further cooperation will be carried on between the two universities.

Colorado State University, founded in 1870 with a history of 141 years, is a well-known university in the world, boasting many first-class subjects.
