Vice President Ren Youqun headed a delegation to visit many universities and schools at the U.S. from April 8th to 21st. Those universities and schools include Tulane University, Teachers School of the University of Columbia, New York University, Confucius School of China Institute in America, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Massachusetts University (Boston), University of Nebraska (Lincoln), Chicago University, and Erikson Institute. We had discussions with leaders in those universities and schools.
Our delegation visited Tulane University from April 8th to 10th. We had discussions with them on academic exchanges in the fields of Music and Laws, establishing Confucius School, and cooperation on summer school. During the visit at New Orleans, we also attended the 2011 Annual Conference of American Education Research Association.
From April 11th to 13th, we visited Teachers School of the University of Columbia and New York University. When we were at New York, we also visited the Confucius School co-founded by China Institute in America and our university. We looked back to the happy times and looked forward to future cooperation.
From April 14th to 17th we came to Boston and visited Harvard University, MIT, and Massachusetts University (Boston). We also saw our teachers at Boston and New York.
From April 18th to 19th, we visited University of Nebraska (Lincoln). We had signed exchange agreements with them twenty years ago. This time both parties expressed sincere wishes to further cooperation.
From April 20th to 21st, we visited Chicago University and Erikson Institute. When we were in Chicago, we visited Chinese Council to America in Chicago and had discussions with Lu Kun, Chu Maoming, and Wang Xiaowei.
This journey to America is a complete success, extending our friendship with American schools and universities and exploring new methods in promoting our internationalization.
