The Twelfth International Symposium on Sino-Australian Studies Held Successfully

The Twelfth International Symposium on Sino-Australian Studies was held successfully from October 28th to 30th, 2010. It was hosted by Australian Study Centres at Shanghai University and our university. Nearly 200 experts and scholars from Australia and China attended it.

 

The opening ceremony was held on October 28th. Many celebrities came there, including our Vice President Ren Youqun, Australian Ambassador to China Geoff Raby, deputy Director Kevin Hobgood-Brown, Consular-general to Shanghai Tom Connor, and ex-President of Australian Study Commission Professor Huang Yuanshen.

 

Ren made a welcome speech, pointing out that the Sino-Australian relationship must be strengthened in the future. Ambassador Mr. Raby highly praised the achievements made by our Australian Study Centre in the past 25 years.

 

During the symposium, an election was made for the leading committee of Sino-Australian Research Commission. Han Feng was elected Chairman, and our Professor Chen Hong the deputy Chairman.
