On the invitation of Hanban, vice Minister of the Education Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia headed a delegation of seventeen people to visit our university from June 29th to July 1st, 2010. The delegation included the presidents of six universities there. Our vice President Lu Jin received the guests in Hongqiao Airport. Deputy Director Zhang Minxuan of the Municipal Education Bureau of Shanghai met the delegation.
Our vice President Ren Youqun had a meeting with them and introduced our university to them, in particular, the cooperative research in the educational field with counterparts in Asian and African countries. He wished to carry on some practical cooperation with Indonesian universities. The delegation praised highly for our achievements, hoping to cooperate in the field of Chinese teaching. Many leaders participated in the meeting, including the Director of Hanban Planning Division Jiang Yandong, Director of Standards and Certification Division Yuan Li, International Education Centre Zhao Zhongjian, Deputy Director Zhang Jianmin, Dean of our School of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language Wu Yongyi, Executive Chairman of Indonesian Chinese Teaching Association, and some Indonesian students in our university. After the meeting, the delegation watched our North Zhongshan Road Campus, taking photos in many places of interest such as Xiayu Isle.
Later on June 29th, our President Yu Lizhong held a banquet for them. They expressed their thanks to us.
