Our Professor Xia Tao published a paper titled “A novel plant vacuolar Na+/H+ antiporter gene evolved by DNA shuffling confers improved salt tolerance in yeast” on the famous Journal of Biological Chemistry. It would help us realize the dream of transforming saline and alkaline land to fertile farmland. The research result has applied patents both in and outside China.
Recently Professor Xia led his team to refine the gene. Thanks to this achievement, the prospect will be very bright.
