Associate Professor Liu Sen of School of Foreign Languages headed a delegation of twelve people to Miami University in America, attending the 2010 Clinton Global Initiative Conference from April 9th to 19th.
Clinton Global Initiative University is an annual meeting funded by Clinton Funding Association for the college students world-wide. It has been held three times since 2007. Its theme is aimed at uniting the leaders of college students, practising innovative programs, and solving social problems.
The delegation arrived at Pennsylvania state on April 9th, 2010. They visited Washington D. C on April 10th. And then they visited West Chester University on April 11th and 12th. During the two-day visit, they gave three presentations on the students’ life of East China Normal University, the development and changes of Chinese Educational System, and the Development and City Culture of Shanghai. They also listened to the courses such as “Human Behaviour and Social Environment” in the university. In the afternoon of April 12th, they listened to a lecture given by Dr. Milne about American Dynamic Politics.
In the afternoon of April 15th, they flied for Miami. On the opening ceremony on April 16th, over 1,300 people from 83 countries congregated in the University of Miami. Our delegation was the only delegation of university sent by our country. Through communications with the experts and authorities present, our delegation realized that we should more actively engage in more public programs and explore our potential of development.
Our Academic Affairs Division gave much support to this visit. Its deputy Director Chen Lingxi thought that it was a complete success.
