Strategic Energy Cooperation in East Asia: Searching for Solutions International Symposium was held at East China Normal University from May 4th, 2010 to May 5th, 2010. It was hosted by our Research Institute of International Relations and Regional Development. Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Propaganda Department Pan Shiwei and our vice President Fan Jun attended the conference and made keynote speeches. Many scholars took part in it too, including Academician Chu Junhao, Professor Zhu Jianrong, and Professor and Dean Feng Shaolei.

 

Pan Shiwei highly praised the importance of the conference in his speech. He pointed out that China is confronted with great energy problem. With the development of East Asian economy and cooperation among those countries, the conference can provide a platform to generate practical agreement. He also wished that our researchers can maintain the excellent tradition and make contribution to the development of Shanghai.

 

Fan Jun introduced our university to the present, hoping that further academic cooperation could be promoted.

 

During the meeting, scholars and experts had many discussions. Academician Chu Junhao made a keynote speech titled “the development of the neo-energy strategies in China”, which was received warmly by the audience.
