On the invitation of Hanban, fifteen Confucius schools at Korean initiated organizing 320 principals of their middle schools and high schools to visit China and to promote Sino-Korean educational communications. They were in China from January 26th to February 1st. East China Normal University, as a host university, received 42 principals at Shanghai. During the visit, they had conferences with scholars at ECNU, No.2 Middle School of ECNU, and Ganquan Foreign Language Middle School. They discussed many issues in elementary education.
This large-scale activity was to further the understanding of Korean educators’ towards Chinese, Chinese culture and China, and to enhance the development of Chinese education in Korea. After the visit, all the principals expressed that it is increasingly necessary to open Chinese courses in Korea, for Chinese economy is advancing so fast.
