International Symposium on “Multi-national Corporations, Innovation and Regional Development” sponsored by ECNU, University of Giessen in Germany, and University of Utah in America has been held in Shanghai recently. Over 30 scholars, including 12 overseas scholars, attended the symposium. It was initiated by Professor Zeng Gang and Professor Du Debin of ECNU, Professor Ingo Liefner of University of Giessen, and Professor Yehua Dennis Wei. And it won the support from our Project 211 Fund, German Humboldt Foundation, and American Ford Foundation.
The symposium focused on 4 features, themed on “Globalization, direct Foreign investment and innovation” “R&D by corporations and industry upgrading” “Knowledge transfer and cooperation networks” and “Innovation, treatment and regions”. 15 scholars made brilliant keynote speeches. Moreover, the people present also had discussions on many issues such as editing of papers, ECNU School, and long-term organization system of forums.
