Vice President of Asia Society Visited ECNU

President Yu Lizhong met vice President of Asia Society Ms. Vivien Stewart and her delegation, discussing issues on international exchanges, teachers and training programs of teaching Chinese as a foreign language (TCFL), and our principal training centre.

 

During the meeting, the two parties further explored the project of promoting Chinese in America, having preliminary agreement on TCFL and cooperation among Sino-American middle schools.

 

Asia Society was founded by John D. Rockefeller in 1956. Its head-quarter is in New York. Hong Kong and Shanghai have its branches. It is aimed at improving Americans’ understanding of Asian culture.

 

What’s more, President Yu Lizhong and dean of School of teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language Wu Yongyi had been invited to the 2nd National Chinese Conference this May, which brought positive feedbacks.

 

Vice President Chen Qun and president assistant Ren Youqun also attended this meeting.
