Prof. Jin Jang of Kyung Hee University and Chief Technical Officer of Wide Corporation, Korea came to ECNU in the morning of May 27th, delivering special reports titled “Research activities on display and solar cells in ADRC” and “The recent trend of the technological applications of the LED backlight” respectively, at the invitation of Prof. Sun Zhuo, Engineering Research Center of Nano-photonics and Advanced Instrumentation, MoE, at Physics Dept.
Prof. Jin Jang is a renowned Korean scientist on information display, currently a professor of Dept. of Information Display at Kyung Hee University, director of Advanced Display Research Center (ADRC）and chairmen of The Society for Information Display (SID）Korea Chapter. He has been working on scientific research, teaching and postgraduate education in the field of information display material and devices, focused on silicon thin film transistor, flexible display and solar cells. 500 of his academic papers has been published, with 290 collected in SCI, introducing technical principle, research status and development of liquid crystal display technology, organic light-emitting diode and solar cells, particularly ADRC’s latest progress on information display and solar cells.
Dr. Chung Seong-Eun is Chief Technical Officer of Wide Corporation, Korea and vice president of its R&D Center. In 1989 he received Ph. D degree from KAIST Taejeon and has been working in Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, Samsung Electronics Co., LTD, Hansol LCD Co., LTD, TopHead Co., Taesan LCD Co., LTD in succession on LED technical research since then. He has delivered reports in several international conferences on display and applied 1 patent with USA (already authorized), 2 with Korea, 3 with Japan. In the report he gave this time, Dr. Chung Seong-Eun made a detailed introduction on liquid crystal, the mainstream product of display in the market, with a focus on the development trend of LED backlight technology and LED in general.
