European Higher Education Forum was held from May 22nd to 23rd in Bucharest of Romania. It was hosted by Romanian Government and UNESCO-CEPES, associated with the Council of Europe, the European Commission, OECD, the European University Association (EUA), the European Students’ Union (ESU), and Education International – EI. Its theme was “Opportunity of Admission, Value, Quality and Competitiveness”.
President assistant Ren Youqun, on behalf of our President Yu Lizhong attended this forum. Director of our International Teacher Education Centre, Zhou Nanzhao also presented there. About 500 representatives from almost all countries in Europe and Americas took part in the forum.
During the forum, Tang Qian of our delegation, director of Higher Education Division George Haddad, and director of CEPES Jan Sadlak had discussions on ECNU’s accession to UNESCO’s projects. And they met Jordan Prince El Hassan bin Talal, director of the Development Bureau of African Development Bank Sibry JM. Tapsoba, Christian Bode of German Academic Exchange Service Centre, ex-President of Romania Emil Constantinescu and minister of Education Ministry Ecaterina Andronescu. Moreover, our delegation had talks with director of American Council on Education Molly Corbett Broad and President of West Virginia University（WVU）Peter Magrath on bilateral cooperation.
