President Steve Smith of University of Exeter in Britain headed a delegation to visit our university on May 6th. Chancellor Zhang Jishun, President Yu Lizhong, vice Chancellor Luo Guozhen, and vice President Chen Qun of ECNU met them and had friendly talks on establishing strategic cooperative partnership. And the two parties decided to have multi-level cooperation and exchanges in the fields of Pre-school Education and Special Education, Life Sciences, Physical Education, Environmental Science, MBA and Alumni Organization.
Chancellor Zhang Jishun made a warm welcome to the delegation, emphasizing that ECNU put much weight on the internationalization of school-running. She hoped that the two parties could have further cooperation.
President Yu Lizhong had a successful meeting with the delegation. During the meeting, the two parties agreed on establishing cooperative partnership in many fields on the basis of the 2008 memorandum.
President Steve Smith pointed out that international strategy is of great importance, not only to raise the status of the university, but also to help improve its quality. He hoped that the two parties could strengthen cooperation, coping with the challenges of globalization.
