Professor Mei Lin, well-know expert on neurosciences, came to our university on the invitation of our Professor Liu Mingyao, director of Research Institute of Life Science and Medicine.
Professor Mei Lin, a tenure professor of the Medical College of Georgia in America and an outstanding expert on neuroscience in the Georgia Research Organization, has been the dean of Medicine and Genetics Department of the college since 2009. In 2004 he was appointed to be a professor for the lectures founded by the Changjiang Scholar Awards by our Ministry of Education. He also published over 100 papers on the internationally famous journals such as Cell,Nature Cell Biol.,PNAS,and Neuron, which were cited by peers more than 1,000 times.
In his lecture, he focused on introducing his research. He explained that after Neuregulin adjusts AChR, how Ras Ras-Raf-MAPK and JNK show. He also pointed out the negative modulation of SHP2 on AChR, making clear that Neureguilin’ receptor can adjust neural plasticity after combining with PSD95. He discovered that Dv1 and GGT play an essential role in aggregating AChR through Agrin/MuSK.
