
Director Mr. Ryuuji Yamada and Director Hiroyuki Kawaguchi of Fujitsu Corporation in Japan headed a delegation to visit our School of Software Engineering in the afternoon of December 24th. Our dean of School of Software Engineering Academician He Jifeng, director of our Foreign Affairs Division, vice chancellor and vice dean of our School of Software Engineering Lv Yucai and vice Dean Zhu Huibiao received the guests. Some representatives of teachers also accompanied them during the visit.
Director Mr. Yamada and Director Kawaguchi came here to report the performance of our interns in Japan and to discuss cooperation in the next phase. Academician He Jifeng gave a warmly welcome to them, and thanked them for giving so good an opportunity to the students in our School of Software Engineering. Then Director Mr. Yamada talked about the work, study and life of our 5 interns in Japan, pointing out that they are diligent and creative, with a clear mind on what they want in the internship, which leaved deep impression on their faculty. During the period, their friendship was greatly strengthened by cultural communications. The corporation provided professional training to the interns, putting much weight on the conversion from the bookish thinking to the professional business thoughts. And it also helped deepen their understanding of team work. What’s more, it organized them to visit Yokohama National University and to participate in some activities in the corporation’s exhibitions, which enriched their internship greatly. Director Mr. Yamada said that he wished that this project could be carried on and expanded, and that he would make a more detailed cooperation plan after returning Japan.
Afterwards Academician He Jifeng told our idea about the project, pointing out that it was the 1st time for us to send students to study in the Fujitsu Corporation in Japan. And he thought that good impression can add much credit for long term cooperation. And this action is in tune with our principle of internationalization. Then the lecture given by the interns stimulated fantastic feedbacks. The next step of the project is intended to strengthen the cooperative partnership between each other through regular exchanges of visits.
The implementation of the project further promoted the internationalization of school running of our School of Software Engineering. These years the school provided many opportunities for students to study and work in India, Switzerland, Russia, Spain, Britain and so on, which not only helped broaden the horizon of our students, but also improve the competitiveness for our graduates in the job market.
