Professor Bing Wei and Dr. Lanzhen Song of Mississippi University gave 2 lectures in our Cao Yihua Mathematics Forum on our Minhang Campus in the afternoon of November 25th. They were on the invitations of Professor Shu Jinlong of our Department of Mathematcis.
Professor Bing Wei made a report titled “Long Cycles through Special Linear Forests”. As is known to all, Long Cycles is a heated issue now. It is an extension of the classical Hamilton hypothesis. Professor Bing Wei went into deep from this issue and introduced some latest achievements on it. In the end, he answered questions sincerely. This report provided a lot of information about the latest dynamics and prospects in the field.
Dr. Lanzhen Song gave a lecture named “Independence Polynomials of k-Tree Related Graphs”. The problems of Independence Polynomials were initiated by 2 famous experts Gutuman and Harary. She introduced the newest result of this problem and her related achievements.
Professor Bing Wei graduated from the Department of Mathematics of Huazhong Normal University and then got his doctoral degree from Technical University of Berlin in Germany in 1992. After that he came back to China and became researcher in Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. In 2004 he went to the Department of Mathematics in University of Mississippi in America. Up to now he had published more than 30 academic theses in world famous journals and magazines.
Dr. Song Lanzhen also graduated from the Department of Mathematics of Huazhong Normal University and went to University of Mississippi for his doctoral degree.
