“Alma Mater is a home for all of us, welcoming us to come back from time to time”. On November 16th, the meeting of our alumni in Beijing was held. Chancellor Zhang Jishun looked back to the tender feeling of the past and looked into the brilliant future in it. The ambience there was warm. Laughter and cheers were echoing in the hall all the time.
“Alumni as a whole is the calling card, the bridge, and the essential resources of the development of the Alma Mater“. President Yu Lizhong said in his speech of welcome, “The development of East China Normal University (ECNU) can never lose the support of our alumni. The achievement of our university is closely associated with the painstaking efforts of our alumni generation after generation”. President Yu Lizhong hoped that through Alumni Association we could build up the power of our alumni, who would take part in the development of our university and make contributions to the Alma Mater and even our national education.
Vice Chairman of our Beijing Alumni Association Wang Zheng contributed 200,000 Yuan to the Alma Mater, promising that from now on 200,000 Yuan would be donated every year. “I feel my whole body was on fire when I fasten the school emblem,” said Wang Zheng in the meeting. He hoped that he could contribute a part in the building of the Alma Mater.
Chancellor Zhang Jishun also addressed in the meeting. She spoke her mind freely to her heart’s content about her experience in ECNU these years. “Our university now advances smoothly. 985 Project and Minhang Campus go on orderly.” She expressed, “Our development needs the help and support of our alumni. The achievement of our alumni is also the pride for our university. The most important encouragement lies in the support of our alumni”. In the end, Chancellor Zhang said, “Alma Mater is a home for all of us all the time, welcoming us to come back from time to time”.
