In the afternoon of November 18th, the opening ceremony of 2008 MANDARA in Shanghai was held in our grand hall. It was initiated by our alumnae Mihoko Konisi and other artists from China and Japan. Vice secretary of our university Party Luo Guozhen, vice consul Kaori Tokumasu of Japanese consulate General in Shanghai, president assistant Yang Weimin also attended the ceremony.

Luo Guozhen and Kaori Tokumasu made a speech in turns. They both praised Mihoko Konisi highly and considered this activity a happy marriage of Japanese and Chinese cultures. After that, president assistant Yang Weimin granted an alumni manual to Mihoko Konisi, on which were her records in our university. She became the 1st international student who got our alumni manual.

It is said that Mihoko Konisi had studied Chinese and traditional Chinese painting in our university in 1990s. After getting a mater degree of arts in 1999, she came back to Japan. Recent years she combined the skills of traditional Chinese paintings and Japanese paintings, creating a unique style of her own. Now she has been an extraordinary painter in Japan.
