International Students on Minhang Campus Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Day

09/16/2008

In the noon of September 10th, executive director of our International Exchange Office Huang Meixu, together with over 50 international students on Minhang Campus, went to Qiushi Dining Hall, having a tea party to celebrate the Min-Autumn Day.

In this September we have enrolled in 180 full-time students, including nearly 60 ones from Russia, Vietnam, Laos, South Korea, Byelorussia, Cameroon and Mongolia. They, together with some Chinese students, moved into No.19 Dormitory of ECNU on Minhang Campus. Our Logistic Administration and Logistic Group had given them substantial help in a quite limited time, so that the students could move into the new dormitory timely. Teachers of the Logistic Group had come to the International Students’ Office on the North Zhongshan Road Campus for some advice, in order to accommodate them appropriately.

At the tea party, Romeo, a Graduate from Cameroon, had lived on the North Zhongshan Road for one year, talking about the difference between the old campus and the new one. He said, “Minhang Campus is beautiful and quiet. The dormitory is spacious and bright. The library and stadium provides various services. The meals are cheap and delicious. The Chinese students are friendly and hospitable. Many international students, including me, love this new home”.

During the party, vice Secretary Lin Zaiyong came there and wished them happy Mid-Autumn Day. He hoped that they could integrate with the Chinese students, and live and study well with the Chinese. He emphasized that the international students should pay great attention to their safety, who had not got familiar with the new environment.

In the end, teachers of the International Students’ Office sent moon-cakes to them. The international students expressed that this Mid-Autumn Day had special meaning to them, and that they would cherish the excellent environment ECNU had created for them. They would study hard there.
