At 7 a.m. on September 6th, our Account Department, Students’ Affairs Department, Graduate School and Students’ Development Association established the Green Channel for New Students in our Students’ Centre on Minhang Campus and in the stadium on the North Zhongshan Road Campus, helping some poor ones register and offering support for their later studies and life.

 Up to now in total 282 new students had entered our university through the Green Channel. In order to help the students in need timely, our university paid great attention to the ones from the disaster areas and had made a lot of investigation before. Students’ Woking Centre this year specially prepared five packages of help for them, including a guidance book on supporting the poor, a big bag full of presents, a coupon worth 200¬300 Yuan, some ready money as subsidy and a warmly wish. The content of the big bag was better than before, including a lamp, a radio, a towel, a T-shirt, tooth brush and tooth paste and some books. Moreover, our “Charity House” played an important role in building the Green Channel. The poor students could get necessary things by using the coupon, among which 58 students in Minhang got new bicycles.

What’s more, Students’ Working Centre and Loans for Students Office established some information centers on the campuses to solve problems and to provide suggestions. The Water-Delivering Team sent some drinking dispensers to every information centers, from which new students and their parents could have water for free.
