On September 3rd, famous expert on Folk Studies, executive vice dean of School of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Professor Chen Qinjian went for Beichuan to carry out an all-dimensional field research with Shanghai Rebuilding Beichuan’s Tourist Industry Team. It was aimed to provide the first-hand information for the reconstruction plan.

Beichuan County had been badly smashed up by the 5·12 earthquake. As a tourist resort, Beichuan should change tourist industry from an important industry to a prior one. Therefore, the design of the reconstruction plan is of great significance to its social and economic resettlement. Recently the tourism research centre of the economy research institute of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences had been commissioned by the Party and Labor Commissions to design a layout for the reconstruction. In order to rebuild and maintain the Qiang’s culture in Beichuan, the team invited Professor Chen to join in the work. Professor Chen has been concerning on the reconstruction work for a long time. He changed his schedule immediately after receiving the invitation, and went for Beichuan to work in the forefront.
