In the afternoon of August 25th, vice president Lin Zaiyong and other leaders in charge of students’ affairs had a meeting in the office building on the north Zhongshan Road campus, seeing off the members of the 10th Supporting Education Project and welcoming the 9th ones who had just come back from Wuding No.1 School in Yunnan province.
In the meeting, Chen Yan on behalf of the members of the 9th Supporting Education Project gave a report on their one-year life and work in Wuding No.1 School in Yunnan, sharing their gains and achievements with the teachers and other students present. The other members of the 9th Supporting Education Group also gave their reflections and suggestions to the ones of the 10th group.
Students in the 10th group expressed their wishes of making contributions for people in west China, and they wanted to realize their ideals confidently. Every teacher present congratulated them and gave them farewell messages as go-away tokens.
Vice president Lin Zaiyong told the ones who would head for Yunnan some requirements and wishes. He pointed out that 10 sessions of Supporting Education Group had been sent out by our university. This project proves that our students carries out our university motto by serving education persistently, which is of great significance for people and schools in west China, and for our students. He encouraged them to adjust attitudes to adapt to the local life style and way of working, to improve teaching ability, to fully display our university’s graceful bearing and to inherit and carry forward our excellent traditions.
This year 4 post-graduates from School of Foreign Languages, School of Finance and Statistics, School of Information Science and School of Science and Engineering come together and set up our 10th Supporting Education Group. On August 26th they would go for Wuding No.1 School in Yunnan, teaching the students there for a year.
