On July 25th, the expert panel from the Science and Education Bureau of Education Ministry had come to our Minhang campus to carry out a feasibility study of its key laboratory building program about polarized materials and equipment. Our secretary Zhang Jishun attended the conference and made a speech of welcome.
The Education Ministry key laboratory of polarized materials and equipment, approved by Education Ministry and founded by the end of 2007, is in our university. Under the guidance of 211 and 985 programs for higher education and focusing on polarized materials and equipment, 10 research units with special features had been installed. Academician Zhu Junhao leads a harmonious team of many excellent youth scholars from programs like State Excellent Youth, Cross Century Talents, Hundred Talents and our Zijiang Professor-in-residence. The team is rational in structure, vigorous in spirit and high in academic standards.
The expert panel had listened to the report from the director of the laboratory, Zhu Ziqiang, and made a field inspection of the laboratory. After exchanging views and discussing seriously, they thought our laboratory has clear goals and features, wise plans on ushering in talents, sufficient instruments catering for the needs of our researches, and scientific standards on management and exchanges. The experts agreed on approving the demonstration.
