Dean of Confucius Institute Heads a Party to Visit our University

In the morning of July 17, new vice president of China Institute and dean of Confucius Institute, Ms. Elisa Liang together with 2 other people visited our university. Vice president Chen Qun received the guests on the North Zhongshan Road campus. Our special president’s assistant, vice dean of Confucius Institute, Huang Liping also took part in the reception. Our communication went deep into cooperating to build a mirror station on the base of the Internet to train teachers to Chinese and preparing to evaluate the masters’ papers in the Confucius Institute. And we exchanged views on related new projects.

China Institute, founded by Hu Shi, Dewey and so on in 1926, is a nonpartisan and nonprofit cultural educational organization. It is the 1st organization which is aimed to spread Chinese culture and civilization to the American society. And it has huge public influence in its long history. Recent years it has gradually transferred its work emphasis to researches on teaching and learning Chinese. Our university had begun to cooperate with China Institute and Confucius Institute since 2006.
