Our Volunteers for the 29th Summer Olympic Games Go to Beijing for Their Posts

On July 24^th, 3 volunteers from our university had gone to Beijing for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in the Shanghai-to-Beijing Volunteer Team of 80 people, which is the only team coming out of Beijing arranged to provide service in the National Stadium “Bird Nest”. 

The 3 volunteers for the Olympic Games are good at foreign languages, 2 of whom are from School of Foreign Languages and can use more than 2 languages proficiently. Meanwhile, they are experienced volunteers, who have performed very well in the Women World Cup, Shanghai Special Olympics and Shanghai Film Festival. 

The selection for the volunteers for the 29^th Summer Olympic Games in Beijing had started in ECNU last December, and had finished on December 20. After the interviews by the Youth League committee of our university’s, 9 candidates from our university had taken part in the 2^nd round selection by the Youth League committee of Shanghai. Through self-introduction, talent and skill display, physical quality examination and questioning and answering, Liu Huan, Ding Huiyan, Zhu Yue and Xu Jialu, 4 students in total, had been approved to be volunteers for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and Beijing Paralympic Games.
