In the morning of July 14th, the opening ceremony of 2008 Artist2 Summer School was held in the 201 hall of our Mathematics Mansion. The secretary of School of Software Engineering Si Yang, deputy dean Zhou Aoying, Dong Jun and so on attended the ceremony. Professor Zhu Huibiao presided over it. The deputy dean of School of Software Engineering, Professor Zhou Aoying made a speech in the opening ceremony, and warmly welcomed all the experts, scholars and post-graduates in the summer school.
The 2008 Artist2 Summer School has been organized and initiated by the Artist Association. It will discuss mainly on embedded systems. This school has been successfully held for 4 years since 2005. This year our School of Software Engineering hosted the 3rd session of the Seminars on Embedded Systems during the Summer School, which had got strong support from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.
This Summer School has invited many well-known scholars for presentation, such as the famous Dutch scholar Ed Brinksma, Professor Michael Gonzalez Harbour from the University of Cantabria in Spain, Professor Christoph Kirsch from University of Salzburg in Austria, Jean-François Raskin from University Bruxelles in Belgium, and Professor Luis Almeida from University Aveiro in Portugal. It has provided a chance to strengthen learning and understanding of over 70 youth teachers from Tsinghua University, Beijing University, Zhejiang University, Hongkong University and East China Normal University.
