Imternational Lectures on Advanced Science and Technology of Optics Holding in Our University

The 1^st session of the International Lectures on Advanced Science and Technology of Optics was closed on June 27. It was sponsored by our 985 Optics Platform and the special fund of a series of activities on natural sciences of ECNU, and it was held by the department of Physics  and the State key laboratory of sophisticated optics and its related technology.

8 noted scholars in this area were invited. They are from America, Britain and Australia, including academician of Royal Society, chairman of Cold Substance Research Center of Imperial College, Professor E.A.Hinds, and academician of Australian Academy of Sciences, Professor P. Drummond.

The lectures concerned on a lot of advanced science and technology, including molecular optics, atomic chips, mono-atom and mono-photon operation, quantum information processing and molecule cooling.

The lectures attracted many expert and post-graduates from Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai University and Shanghai Optics and Sophisticated Machine Research Institute.

The overseas professionals invited also visited the State key laboratory of Sophisticated Spectrum Science and Technology, and they discussed warmly with many teachers and students on the related problems of the advanced science and technology.
