Achievement I: Construction of Miniature Drug coupling System for Cancer Treatment
In response to the high toxicity and low selectivity of chemotherapeutic drugs, Professor Lyv Wei's team, on the basis of their previous research on extracellular HSP90, developed a new type of eHSP90-based miniature drug coupling system. The results were published in Journal of Medicinal Chemistry with the PhD student Zhu Shulei as the first author.
Achievement II: Targeted Delivery of Nucleic Acid Drugs for Cirrhosis
In view of the fibrosis and inflammation issues that play a vital role in liver cirrhosis, Prof. Yu Lei and Associate Researcher Yan Zhiqiang developed a liver-targeted small nucleic acid lipid nanoparticle delivery system based on the dual effects of anti-fibrosis and anti-inflammatory, which has been successfully applied to the treatment of liver cirrhosis in animal models. Achievement III: Discovery of PI3K/mTOR Dual Inhibitors for Targeted Tumor Therapy
In response to the drug resistance and negative feedback that often occur with single targeted drugs, Associate Researchers Ma Mingliang and Dong Suzhen jointly developed a new imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine PI3K/mTOR dual inhibitor. Related results were published in Journal of Medicinal Chemistry.

Achievement IV: Efficient and Highly-Selective Docking Reaction for Drug Synthesis
Regarding the question of how to achieve efficient asymmetric catalysis in the course of constructing a diverse compound datebase, Associate Researcher Xing Dong from ECNU and Prof. Hu Wenhao from Sun Yat-sen University developed the first asymmetric multi-component Mannich reaction based on the activation of the electrophilic reagent. Related results were published in Nature Communication and reported by Synform and X-mol.

Achievement V: Discovery of Mitochondrial Uncoupler for Diabetes Treatment
Prof. Tang Jie and Prof. Yang Fan’s team from ECNU and Prof. Li Jia’s team from the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly found thatPDH activation by dichloroacetic acid (DCA) protects mice from DNP-induced hyperlactacidemia, hyperthermia, and death, while preserving the ability of DNP to promote fuel oxidation and improve insulin sensitivity in mice. Their findings were published in the renowned Diabetes.
