On the 10th anniversary, the concept of “a community with a shared future for mankind” was proposed during a formal discussion co-produced by China Xinhua News Network Corporation (CNC) and Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch, which was broadcasted by the Xinhua News Agency’s International Communication Integration Platform. The broadcasting took place at ECNU’s Putuo Campus.
On the banks of the Liwa River, as the willows floated with the spring breeze, Wang Yongqian, President of Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch held a discussion with ECNU’s Prof. Josef Gregory Mahoney from the School of Politics and International Relations. They sat face-to-face to talk about China’s contribution to building a community with a shared future for mankind and promoting the common development of all countries.

Wang Yongqian, President of Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch, graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of ECNU in the Class of 1991, majoring in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL). Apart from filming, Mei Bing, Secretary of ECNU CPC Committee, also talked with alumni Wang Yongqian.

The short bilingual film prepared for this dialogue was broadcasted on the English and Chinese versions of the Xinhua News App, on March 31st and April 4th respectively. As of this publication date, the video in Chinese has been viewed by more than 1.75 million viewers .
