Prof. Raz Jelinek, Vice President of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israeli, visits ECNU

On September 22nd, Prof. Raz Jelinek, Vice president of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, visited ECNU for the first time at the invitation of ECNU.

Gu Hongliang extended a warm welcome to Prof. Jelinek and introduced the internationalization efforts made by ECNU, particularly the collaboration with Israeli universities. Vice President Gu expressed his eargerness regarding Prof. Jelinek’s visit to ECNU’s relevant departments in person to promote collaboration in the major disciplines of both universities. He also encouraged both parties to engage in student exchange programs. Prof. Jelinek expressed his sincere appreciation to ECNU for the warm reception. As the Vice President for Research & Development at his university, he was looking forward to deepening mutual understanding during this visit and opening a new chapter of cooperation in the future.

During his visit, Prof. Jelinek visited and exchanged ideas with the Health Science Center, the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, and the School of Ecology and Environmental Sciences. He also gave a seminar titled “Carbon Dots - New Magic in Chemistry” and interacted with representatives and students from the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering. Both parties expressed their keenness for future reciprocal visits and academic exchanges.

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, founded in 1969, is located in Beer Sheva, a city in southern Israel. As one of the major research universities in Israel, it highlights innovative cutting-edge technology centers in various disciplines and is among the world leaders in many research fields including new energy, dryland agriculture, and water resources.
