As artificial intelligence (AI) exerts a profound impact on the field of education, what core competencies should future teachers possess?
On July 7th, the opening ceremony of the 3rd National Future Teachers Study Camp for University Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan was held at ECNU. Over a dozen educational experts and frontline teachers along with nearly 30 outstanding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan students gathered at ECNU.
She shared her experiences of studying in Shanghai and Yunnan during the first camp: in Shanghai, she learned how high-quality educational resources empower teaching innovation; in Yunnan, she gained insights into how cross-regional educational assistance breaks through geographical barriers. Mutual support between schools and regions creates more possibilities for students. These experiences gave her a deep realization that “the broader a teacher's vision, the wider a child's horizons will be.”
“What will education look like in the future? How can we learn from the educational methods used in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and the Chinese mainland?”
With these thoughts, Luo Junyu, a student from the University of Hong Kong, shared his expectations for the study tour. He hopes to understand the educational practices in primary and secondary schools in Shanghai and Sichuan through this camp, and explore the integrated development of educational models across regions as a learner, applicator, and pioneer of smart education.
On the same day, the themed forum on "Core Competencies of Future Teachers in the AI Era" officially kicked off. The forum conducted cross-disciplinary dialogues on educational reforms in the AI era, providing both theoretical and practical impetus for cultivating teachers' abilities.
In the next few days, the study tour camp will carry out in-depth educational inspections and teaching practices in Shanghai, Chengdu, and Langzhong.
