Department of Fine Arts Starts Cooperation with European College

The international cooperation of ECNU's Department of Fine Arts moves further with its newly signed cooperation deal with Ecole Superieure d'Art Le Havre Rouen, a well-known arts college in France.

Francois Lasgi, Vice President & Rouen campus President of Ecole Superieure d'Art Le Havre Rouen, visited ECNU with a delegation recently. ECNU Vice President Fan Jun met the delegation led by Francois Lasgi, and signed a cooperation deal with the delegation at a ceremony. Prof. Wei Tianyu, dean of the Department of Fine Arts, and Peng Liping, vice director of ECNU's International Exchange Division, attended the ceremony.

Ecole Superieure d'Art Le Havre Rouen, one of the 58 public arts colleges in France, was established in 1741. Teaching and research of arts are the most distinguished features of this college.

Department of Fine Arts has made much progress in its communication and cooperation with foreign universities and colleges. As these communication and cooperation are mainly made with universities and colleges from the United States, Australia and countries in other continents, the deal with Ecole Superieure d'Art Le Havre Rouen shows the beginning of the cooperation with European colleges. Experts said the cooperation could not only enlarge arts students' international vision, but also better the philosophy and teaching mode in ECNU's arts education.
