ECNU Chinese New Year celebrations make students feel at home

Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival, is the most important festival in the year for the Chinese. According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2023 is the year of the Rabbit. With the Chinese New Year approaching, the university has put up an impressive array of decorations.

For the many international students who have decided to stay on campus during the Spring Festival, ECNU Global Education Center, on the afternoon of January 18, held many traditional activities,such as writing Spring Festival couplets, guessing lantern riddles, playing chess, preparing Chinese knots, and making dumplings. Designed to get ECNUers immersed in Chinese traditional culture, these activities attracted more than 100 international students from over 30 countries.

Besides, an event to look forward to on New Year’s Eve is a free dinner, with delicious traditional foods and snacks, which will be prepared for every ECNUer staying on campus.
