10/24/2023

The annual sports competition is an important event for identifying and showcasing sports talents at ECNU as well as giving students a break from their busy class schedule. This year’s sports day lasted two days from October 24 to 25, involving faculties and students competing in over 30 sports events.

The opening ceremony was held on the morning of October 24. Lighting the Torch together to kick off the events were Ge Manqi, a graduate student majoring in Physical Education and Training at ECNU, champion at Women's 100m and 4×100m relay at 19th Asian Games; Lin Yuwei an undergraduate student majoring in Physical Education of the Class of 2019 at ECNU, women's 100m hurdles champion at 19th Asian Games; and Chen Long, the leader of the hurdles department of the Chinese National Athletics Team and the coach of the ECNU running team.

The creative styles in which the faculties and students made their debut were one of the highlights of the opening ceremony. Each phalanx demonstrated the characteristics of the faculties and department concerned.

Throughout the two days of sport, the student athletes at ECNU showcased their vigor and style on the field, surging forward and spraying sweat and at the same time honoring the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
