ECNU and United Imaging Healthcare initiate an overall strategic partnership

On April 26, ECNU signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai United Imaging Healthcare. The two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in the field of medical imaging technology to jointly promote the development of cutting-edge technology and industrial applications.

From the establishment of the Spectroscopy Teaching and Research Office in the 1950s, to the official establishment of the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Magnetic Resonance in 2005, ECNU has been functioning as one of the major bases for magnetic resonance research and talent cultivation in China. The university has conducted comprehensive technological research and development in hardware, pulse sequences, image reconstruction, and processing algorithms of magnetic resonance systems. In addition, applied research has been conducted in various fields such as chemical materials, cognitive science, and medicine, with remarkable achievements gained.

United Imaging Healthcare is a leading enterprise in domestic medical magnetic resonance technology, committed to independently developing high-performance medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment. It is an internationally renowned leading medical technology enterprise, and its magnetic resonance products have reached the forefront of international technology.

At the signing ceremony, Qian Xuhong, president of ECNU, said that the university has profound research experience and outstanding scientific achievements in magnetic resonance. This powerful collaboration should aim at international top-level standards, seeking to achieve more innovative achievements in the field of medical imaging through innovation in systems and mechanisms, to overcome technical difficulties and benefit patients.

Xue Min, chairman of United Imaging Healthcare Technology Group Co., Ltd., pointed out that ECNU’s advantages in magnetic resonance technology research and talent cultivation complement United Imaging’s professional strength in medical imaging equipment research and development and technological application. He expressed the hope that the two parties will cooperate comprehensively in various aspects such as medical imaging technology, equipment research and development, and clinical application, to achieve complementary advantages and mutual benefit.

Mei Bing, chair of the university council said in her concluding remarks that the rapid development and strong strength of United Imaging Healthcare are inspiring and enlightening. She hopes that both parties will take the signing as a new starting point, share their advantages, support each other, aim at the needs of the country, and jointly make new and greater contributions.
