The Educational Achievements Exhibition Room of Meng Xiancheng and Liu Fonian is located in the Round Building, a landmark on the central axis of Putuo Campus, with an overall construction area of nearly 1200 square meters.

Meng Xiancheng, the first president of ECNU, devoted himself to the Sinicization of educational theories and educational history research. His ideal of the university, “creativity, character, and community” provides an important methodological guide for modern universities to pursue and establish their original mission.

As the second president of ECNU and a pioneer of the reform and development of normal universities, Liu Fonian recruited and hired talents in an exceptional manner, built key disciplines, established new fields and institutions such as the Department of Computer Science and Technology, and promoted international exchanges and cooperation.

Making full use of the rich collection of the Meng Xiancheng Education Library of the Faculty of Education, the exhibition completed the two scholars’ academic works, and books and texts studied and commemorated by later generations of scholars. The Exhibition Room innovatively introduces the latest digital media interactive and virtual reality technology, adopts a combination of traditional exhibition, and infrared interactive projection, CAVE virtual reality immersion system, and oral history interview videos to present the academic research achievements of the two scholars in education in the graphic, textual and audio way.
